Who Am I?

This is me now. Horizontally Enhanced. A lot happier with a little bit of anxiety sprinkled all throughout.

Update: June 2022

Hello again dear friend!

It’s been five years since I updated this site and I had a lot of growing up that happened over the last five years. I had a lot of getting to know myself too. Nothing much has changed but here’s how I position myself now:

I’m a multi-passionate creative specializing in Graphic Design. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and I also completed courses in Graphic Design and Social Media Management. With more than 11 years of professional experience, I gained substantial knowledge in customer support for startups and large outsourced businesses in the US including 8+ years of experience across multiple creative disciplines.

These experiences honed my verbal and written communication skills, creativity, empathy, and problem-solving. I also became a subject matter expert in customer support, guided my colleagues, and proved my reliability as an employee. Moving forward in my career, I wanted to focus on developing systems and workflows to build brands that I am passionate about. I’m aiming to launch my small business online and later move towards helping small business owners get clear with their goals and create a powerful brand and marketing strategies.

I’m currently learning UX design and looking to get into the tech industry with my skills as a UX designer.

A summary of events in the last five years:

  • I fulfilled my childhood dream of working as a radio show host
  • Pandemic Happened
  • Found an awesome job and I’m working remotely now (from the comforts of my own bed).
  • Got together with the love of my life.

Hey there!

Welcome to my little space on the internet.

I’m George. AB Communication Graduate from the University of St. La Salle – Bacolod. I always find myself ‘thinking out loud’, rather others find me self-talking, but don’t misjudge me for a lunatic. I am in the right senses. It’s just one of those things other people find weird about me. But then “weird” is cool, and so are you. *wink*

So here I am blogging, to let these thoughts out in writing. I’m passionate about filmmaking, photography, graphic design, music, movies, uhh, what else? Pretty much anything I could get my hands on. It’s like today I find myself enthused in riding Penny Boards, which is just basically a mini plastic skateboard, tomorrow I’ll surprise myself doing something else. Okay, I’m running off track, sorry. But yeah, you get the idea. So many things to do, so little time.

I’m still getting the hang of this since I just quit my regular job and lately have been enjoying my free time planning to work as a home based freelancer while wanting to do something productive with my life at the same time.

Like any young individual who’s still trying to figure out my life and looking to experience financial freedom, I worked as a human shock absorber aka Customer Service Representative for the last 5 years. The experience was enriching. I gained a lot of friends, I learned to exercise my patience, keep my calm and respond positively to tough situations. It helped me pay my bills, finish school, got my hands on things I call my “little dreams”, and allowed me to travel places and eat food to satisfy my cravings.

Yet though I enjoyed all the above things mentioned – the truth was – I was never happy with that job. I felt like financially my head is still just above the water probably I got so used to getting paid on a regular basis and also for the lack of discipline due to my insatiable food cravings,  spontaneous travels and makeup addiction (sound familiar?) These things have prevented me from saving up some cash to pursue my ultimate dream of traveling outside the country. So after a few months of deliberation and setting my finances straight, I quit my job and decided it’s about time to pursue my passion.

Maybe it’s just not for me but I still have the utmost respect for those people who continue to work in the Business Process Outsourcing industry. It’s a noble job, to be honest.

This, however, is not a story of a person who quit her job and traveled the world.

This is a story of the struggles of a broke, 24-year-old who’s only starting out to build her career, lives off her last salary, and thinks she’s just not good enough to be working in larger companies because of their unrealistic job application requirements.

I bet we all had that point in our lives – that moment when we were having these grandiose dreams of doing something great and productive and all that, and then we end up spending the whole day overthinking how much of a loser we are because we can’t seem to get anything started and just find ourselves watching movies, scrolling through Facebook and practically just doing nothing at the end of the day. (This is where Productivity Owl comes in handy.)

But as Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) from La La Land said, “I’m a phoenix rising from the ashes.”, I bet I’d hold on to that statement for the mean time. It’s never too late to be that someone great our future self might consider as someone “we could have been”.

So here I am, sharing whatever I can to the world. Sitting on the couch at my parent’s house drinking tea from my neon green mug while snuggled up in my neon green blanket. (Yeah, my subconscious mind tells me that I love green so don’t ever wonder why my walls and my nails are painted green too!)

Cuddles,

Georgia Louise
